Most recognized as a famous art community, the architecture in Wicker Park is breathtaking. A walk down Caton St. and Hoyne Ave. will show you the magnificent mansions built by the European merchants and entrepreneurs. All their beauty is now preserved, inasmuch as the area registered with the National Historic District.
The area definitely has become popular for shopping, nightclubs and of course, art galleries. Artists showcase their pieces at the annual "Around the Coyote" art festival in the late summer. Being bordered by Bucktown and Ukrainian Village, Wicker Park is ideally located near public transportation and the expressway.
